We are all like raindrops falling from the sky, eventually landing on this sandy star and drying up from the heat of the sun. Even if protected by a huge umbrella, we never know what tomorrow may bring. Someday we will be blown by the wind and absorbed into the sandy earth.

Look up at that moon, like a blood red eyeball glistening in the sky, staring down upon us. And recall that man's name, his legend. The time has come, and the only tale which should be told is that of the footsteps which continue into the future.

Vash The Stampede

His past is a mystery. Unbelievable rumors about him sweep through people as if a wind passes. He changed one of the Seven Cities into a mountain of rubbles, made a big hole on the Fifth Moon, and some say he was directly involved in the Big Fall, the crash of the spaceships, over a hundred years ago. There are many who doubt the existence of this half legendary figure. However, on the other hand, those few who had dealt with him closely tell of his true nature. His good nature is unparalleled but credulous. He hates conflicts. A crybaby who is a pacifist. Yet those rumors have just one thing in common. That is, he is superbly skilled in gun techniques. Once his gun is fired, no enemy remains standing. Conflicts end unquestionably. If there's one more thing that's certain about him, it's that this devil who wears a red coat is watching people's lives from a distance. He appears and disappears throughout the history of the planet. Are there many men who carry this name from generation to generation? Or is this one and the same person? His past is a mystery.

The World

Over a century has passed already since hundreds of immigrating spaceships had fallen on the planet. Under the scorching dual suns and hot sand raging in the wind, people barely survive on the surpace of the planet, dependent on the technology left on the spaceships. In an environment exposed to severe thirst and hunger, what rules this harsh world are the most fundamental concepts of survival. In the smell of blood and gunsmoke, violence takes the shape of lead bullets and rules the land. Entrusting their lives to ugly but beautiful steel weapons, the scoundrels begin their feast again today...

A priest walks on a desolate plain, wandering without a destination. He carries a big symbol on his back, as if it is the very sign of the institution. He preaches words of forgiveness and cleanses dead souls. However, this very man who speaks God's words, is the very man who breaks God's words. He has killed too many. Wounded by the reality that he cannot escape from, he has carved his life out of dirt. As long as he stays human, his choices are minimal. Cutting down countless souls, his heart bleeds.
