last century. Automobiles and airplanes are use-
less relics. Railroads have once again become the
major means of transportation. Life continues as
before. The citizens of Nouvelle Tokyo City, a
city afloat in what used to be Tokyo Bay, enjoy
a high degree of peace, prosperity and freedom.
As in any age, however, the forces of evil are
working secretly behind the scenes. And where
there's evil, there's also good.

MAITO SENPUHJI is a 15-year-old wunderkind:
bright, active, fair of face and figure, clear-headed
and athletic. The commander-in-chief of the bili-
onaire Senpuhji Distribution Croup, he has used
his own money to create an international rescue
team calied "The Brave Express". The Brave
Express is a team of eight rescue robots led by
GAINE, a highly intelligent humanoid robot. Each
is capable of transforming into a train. Using a
highly-developed system of railways, they travel
throughout the world, appearing wherever trouble
rears its ugly head!
